Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Groupick! (“Groupick!”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Groupick! mobile application (the “App”). Groupick! is a group decision-making app operated by Jonathan Silverman, based in the United States. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the App and provide you with the service you request. Specifically:

Account information

• Email address (for sign-in and account recovery)
• Full name and username (displayed to your group)
• Avatar image, if you choose to upload one

Poll content

• Poll titles and descriptions you create
• Suggestions, votes, and availability selections you submit

Social connections

• Friend connections and group memberships you establish

Device information

• Push notification token, used solely to deliver notifications you have opted into

Usage information

• A history of your poll activity, suggestions, and votes within the App

We do not collect payment or financial data, precise location data, browsing history outside the App, or any advertising identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To let you create polls, invite friends, and share suggestions and votes with your group
• To send notifications you have opted into
• To maintain a history of polls you participate in so you can return to them
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse or misuse
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Information Sharing

Content you contribute to a poll (your suggestions, votes, and availability selections, along with your profile name, username, and avatar) is visible to other members of that poll. Your friend connections are visible to the friends you have connected with. Beyond this, we do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• With service providers (listed below) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
• When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy commitments

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication (supabase.com/privacy)
• Anthropic — AI-generated suggestions, only when you actively use the AI feature (anthropic.com/privacy)
• Expo / EAS — app delivery and push notifications (expo.dev/privacy)
• TMDB, Unsplash, and Google Places — image fetching for suggestions, only in response to user-initiated requests

Each of these providers acts as our processor. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and poll content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile information is anonymized and your authentication credentials are deleted. Poll content you have contributed may remain within polls so that other participants' experience is preserved, but it will no longer be identifiable to you.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can update or remove content you've contributed from within the App at any time. You may delete your account at any time from within the App; doing so will anonymize your profile and delete your authentication credentials. If you would like to exercise any additional rights or have questions about your data, email privacy@groupick.app and we will respond within a reasonable period.

You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Groupick! is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@groupick.app and we will delete the information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
